The Olympus 35 RD (1975) is the faster-lens variant of the popular 35 RC. **F. Zuiko 40mm f/1.7** six-element lens (vs RC's 42/2.8), Seiko leaf shutter, coupled rangefinder, CdS meter with shutter-priority AE. Slightly smaller body than the 35 SP, faster lens than the 35 RC. Lesser known than the SP/RC siblings but optically excellent.

Released 1975 as the late-period premium fixed-lens Olympus rangefinder. Production ran 4 years until 1979 when the XA series (1979+) took over Olympus's compact-camera direction.
For 2026 buyers, the 35 RD is one of the most-coveted Olympus fixed-lens RFs — faster lens than RC, smaller than SP. Used at $200–450. The F.Zuiko 40/1.7 is sharp wide-open.
