The Yashica D (1958) is Yashica's basic 120 medium-format TLR. **Yashinon 80mm f/3.5** four-element Tessar-formula taking lens (same as Yashica-Mat 124G's lens), Copal MXV leaf shutter, knob film advance (vs Yashica-Mat's crank), no built-in meter. Simpler and cheaper than the Yashica-Mat line; positioned as the entry-level 6×6 TLR.

Released 1958 as Yashica's budget TLR. Production ran 14 years until 1972. Sold widely as the cheapest "real" TLR alongside the more-featured Yashica-Mat (with crank wind, meter on later variants).
For 2026 buyers, the Yashica D is the cheapest entry into 6×6 TLR photography. Used at $120–280 — half the Yashica-Mat 124G's typical price. Same Yashinon lens means similar image quality. Trade-off: knob wind is slower than crank, no meter, fewer features than the Mat line.
Lens fixed. Bay I filters and Yashinon close-up lens sets.
