Profile notes

FILM Ferrania P30 is a panchromatic black-and-white negative film revived by the reborn Italian film company FILM Ferrania in Cairo Montenotte, Italy. The P30 formula traces its origins to the original Ferrania company's mid-20th century cinema emulsion used in acclaimed Italian films. Re-introduced in February 2017 as 'P30 Alpha' in 35mm, the film features an exceptionally high silver content (approximately 5 g/m²) on a triacetate base, producing ultra-fine grain, high natural contrast, and a narrow exposure latitude compared to most modern B&W films. Accurate metering is particularly important with P30. ISO 80 rated in daylight. Available in 35mm (36 exposures) and 120 format. Compatible with most standard B&W developers. The factory is under new ownership (as of late 2024) and production continues.
