Kodak Vision3 5203 50D is the ultra-low-speed member of the Vision3 family, introduced around 2007 as part of Kodak's third-generation Vision motion picture film lineup. At ISO 50, it delivers the finest grain and highest resolving power of any Vision3 stock, making it the choice for brilliant exterior cinematography, commercials, and any scene with abundant natural light. Vision3 technology incorporates Kodak's patented Dye Layering Technology (DLT) and improved halation control for richer shadow detail and spectacular highlight latitude — Vision3 stocks are widely cited as offering 13+ stops of dynamic range. The 5203 features enhanced cyan dye stability and improved colour saturation over Vision2. As an ECN-2 process stock with remjet backing, it requires either lab ECN-2 processing or careful remjet removal before C-41 or other processing. Widely used in narrative film, music videos, and high-end commercial work. In active production as of 2026.
