The Minolta Autocord (1955) is Minolta's 6×6 medium-format TLR. **Rokkor 75mm f/3.5** four-element Tessar-formula taking lens — widely praised as one of the sharpest TLR Tessar designs, often rated higher than Yashinon equivalents. Distinctive **left-hand focus lever** that runs along the bottom of the body (vs Rolleiflex/Yashica's right-side focus knob). Synchro-Compur leaf shutter to 1/500s, no built-in meter on basic variants; CDS versions added CdS meter.

For 2026 buyers wanting a TLR with optical performance comparable to a Rolleicord at lower used prices, the Minolta Autocord is the strongest choice. Used at $250–500. The Rokkor 75/3.5 is genuinely sharp; the left-hand focus lever is initially disorienting but becomes natural quickly.
The Autocord is one of the most-recommended TLRs in 2026 budget guides because the optical quality rivals Rollei at half the price.
