Profile notes
Introduced in late 2022 via a successful Kickstarter campaign, CineStill 400Dynamic (400D) is CineStill's first film designed from the ground up for still photography rather than adapted from existing cinema stock. While the emulsion is widely considered to be related to Kodak Vision3 technology — most likely 250D — CineStill has stated it was manufactured without a remjet layer from the start, differentiating it from their earlier 50D and 800T offerings. The film renders warm, muted tones with subtle halation, particularly visible under artificial light. It is rated EI 400 and can be shot from EI 200 to 800 without push/pull, with push capability to EI 3200. Available in 35mm and 120 formats, it features a process-surviving anti-static coating suitable for auto-wind cameras.
