Rollei Retro 400S is distributed by Maco Photo Products (Germany) using Agfa-Gevaert Aviphot Pan 400S aerial emulsion, originally designed for mapping and terrain photography. Its spectral sensitivity of 380–730 nm (up to ~750–820 nm depending on source) gives it a super-panchromatic character, allowing use with deep red and R72 infrared filters for near-infrared effects. The clear polyester base aids scanning and permits reversal slide processing. Ideal for landscape and architectural photography where extended tonality in reds and foliage is desirable.
