HARMAN Phoenix II

HARMAN Phoenix II 200 is a complete reformulation of the original Phoenix emulsion, launched in July 2025. Profile notes

HARMAN Phoenix II 200 was announced July 2025 as a ground-up redesign of every layer of the original Phoenix emulsion. HARMAN describes each dye, coupler, and layer construct as new and experimental, yielding a film that is markedly different from the original Phoenix 200. The key improvements are finer grain, more neutral and predictable color balance, reduced contrast, and wider exposure latitude — making Phoenix II more accessible to a broader range of photographers while still maintaining a character that sets it apart from mainstream emulsions like Kodak Gold or Fujifilm. Like its predecessor it is an ISO 200 daylight-balanced C-41 film available in 35mm (DX-coded, 36 exp) and 120 formats, and processes in standard C-41 chemistry. The original Phoenix 200 was effectively replaced by this reformulation.
